By 2021, Uzbekneftegaz will invest $200 million in the search for heavy oil

In 2013 – 2020, Uzbekneftegaz will invest $200 million into geological exploration in to the search for heavy oil in Southern and Eastern Uzbekistan. The company began realization of the geological exploration program on the search forheavy oil and bitumen in the Korsagly-Dasmanaginsky zone and the Besharcha site in the Surkhandarya region and within the Fergana region in the East. They are going to additionally attract at least 100,000 tons of oil annually because of geological exploration. The main partners for attraction of these technologies can be CNPC, Eriell Corporation and Tethys Petroleum. The forecast prospected reserves of Uzbekistan are 820 million tons of oil, and 360 million tons of gas condensate. 60% of oil are active, easily extractable reserves.
