Rosatom to start the development of new Vershinny uranium deposit in 2016

​“Khiagda” JSC (in the structure of the uranium holding Rosatom ARMZ) plans from the beginning of  2016 to start the development of the Vershinny uranium deposit at the Khiagda ore field in Buryatia, CEO of Khiagda, A. Dementiev, said.

The drilling of technological wells is to start at the Vershinny deposit from 2016, Dementiev said.

Khiagda extracts uranium by the ecologically friendly method of underground leaching. The reserves of the Vershinny deposit are considered to be one of the best at the Khiagda ore field.

Dementiev said that the first uranium at this deposit is planned to be extracted until 2018. The Vershinny deposit is to start working in late 2017, he said.
