​Gazprom and Mitsubishi (Japan) have considered the perspectives of cooperation in the sphere of LNG, Gazprom reports.

The parties discussed the main issues of cooperation in the gas sphere. It was about the perspectives of development of cooperation in the sphere of LNG, including in the framework of the Sakhalin-2 project.

Mitsubishi Corporation specializes in the production and sale of various products – from textile to cars and equipment; managerial consulting; attraction of modern technologies, organization of financing and coordination at the realization of projects.

In 2009 in the framework of Sakhalin-2 the first in Russia LNG plant was put into operation with the project capacity of 9.6 mln tons of LNG a year. The operator of the project Sakhalin-2 is Sakhalin Energy.
