Turkey hopes Russia won’t postpone the signing of the gas agreement

Ankara hopes that Russia will not postpone the signing of the agreement upon the discount for gas in the framework of the negotiations by Turkish Stream, the Minister of Energy and Natural Resources of Turkey, Y. Yildyz, said.

The discount will allow Ankara to save $1 bln a year. The Minister said that Turkey can’t see any obstacles to construct one branch of the gas pipeline. He added that Russia had sent a request for the construction of 4 branches to Turkey.

Previously the Minister of Energy of Russia, A. Novak, said that Gazprom an Botas have an agreement on granting Turkey a 10.25% discount for the Russian gas in the framework of Turkish Stream.
