Timchenko tells what should be expected after refusal of the Japanese to take part in mega-project in the Yamal-Nenets autonomous district

Member of the Novateks’ Board of Directors Gennady Timchenko, included in the U.S. sanctions list, has commented on the progress of the Yamal LNG project. This is a project ofconstruction of a liquefied natural gas plant in the Yamal-Nenets autonomous district on basis of the South-Tambeyskoye field.

He says that negotiations for the sale of 9% of Yamal LNG’s shares with the Qataris, Indians and Chinese are currently held. Commenting on the loss of interest in the project by the Japanese, Mr. Timchenko noted that they "joined the sanctions".
