Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan are important natural gas suppliers

New large and small sources of energy resources replacing hydrocarbons appear in the world.

Chief advisor of the Energy Resources Bureau of the US Department of State, D. Stein, said at the 21st International Conference “Oil, Gas, oil processing and oil chemicals of the Caspian” (Caspian Oil&Gas 2014).

According to him, this factor is more important for gas resources than for oil resources.

D. Stein said that Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan are important natural gas suppliers despite of the fact that resources in Mozambique, Tanzania and the Mediterranean Sea have been discovered.

He added that in future the USA hopes to increase the energy acceptance out of the recoverable sources. D. Stein reported of the plans of the US Department of State to realize 7 projects on the LNG production with the total volume of 95 bln cubic m.

Speaking about the obligations of the USA to Europe, the US Department of State representative said that Washington, as previously, would go on working with its European partners.

For us safety in Europe means our safety, he said.

D. Stein also mentioned Azerbaijan’s intention to organize global natural gas supplies. He reminded of the last year’s signing the Final investment decision for the Shakh-Deniz-2 project.

The Department of State representative said that the Southern gas corridor will help to diversify the gas supply to Europe adding that the first 10 bln cubic meters of the Azeri gas by this pipeline is just the initial stage, then Iraq and Turkmenistan might join it.
