Mechel to ship about 1 mln tons of coking coal to Baosteel Resources

​Mechel PJSC announces of the prolongation of the agreement of cooperation with one of the largest metallurgical holdings of China Baosteel Resources.

From April 2016 until March 2017 Mechel will ship up to 960 thousand tons of coking coal of premium marks extracted at the Neryungri open pit mine. The main part of this volume will be shipped via the trade port Posiet (in the structure of the company). The price will be settled monthly.

We have constructive relationships with Baosteel Resources. In future Mechel will stick to the best practices of cooperation with this company. We provide our partners with high quality coking coal which has already become the image of Yakutia and the Far East of Russia. The stake of Baosteel Resources is on average about 30% of export of our coal products to China. The Chinese market was and stays one of the priority markets for us, the CEO of Mechel, O. Korzhov, said.
