After introduction of export duties, Russian metallurgical companies to cover loss by means of domestic market

The Government of Russia thinks about restricting the export of metal products from Russia imposing higher export duties.

The introduction of export duties for metal products might lead to a higher price rise for steel, CEO of the “Prommetiz” Association, B. Yarantsev, said.

According to him, the situation with the oil products in 2014 might repeat in the market: after the introduction of duties, the prices for gasoline rose even more. It happens because the exporters keeping to sell in the foreign markets at former prices, try to cover their losses from the new duties in the domestic market by means of Russian consumers.
