In 2014, Chelyabinsk zinc plant increased production of zinc by 1.3%

On the results of 2014, Chelyabinsk zinc plant produced 168,601 tons of commodity grade zinc of Special High Grade (SHG) and its alloys, which is by 1.3% more than in 2013 (166 357 tons). 55% of the metal were sold on the Russian market (66% in 2013), the company’s press release reports.

On the results of 2014, Nova Zinc (the operator of the lead-zinc deposit Akzhal in Kazakhstan), which belongs to the same group of persons, who own the Chelyabinsk zinc plant, produced 36 150 tons of zinc in concentrate that is by 3.7% more than in 2013 (34 870 tons), and 5 528 tons of lead in concentrate that is by 14.9% more than in 2013 (4 810 tons).
