The initiation of several major pipeline projects  gives an opportunity to restore the loading and exports of the Ukrainian pipe companies, whose market positions have seriously deteriorated in 2013.

In late January, the TANAP Dogalgaz Iletim company, representing the consortium to build the Trans-Anatolian gas pipeline (Trans Anadolu Pipeline, TANAP), summed up the selection of manufacturers and suppliers of pipes for this project.

In summary, the competition will be attended by 20 companies, 6 of which represent Turkey (Borusan Mannesmann, Umran Celik, Noksel Celik, Emek Boru Makina, Toscelik Profil and Erciyas Celik consortium), 9 - Asia (Japanese Metal One Corporation, Marubeni Itochu Tubulars Europe and Sumitomo Corporation, the Korean Daewoo International, the Indian Welspun Trading, Man Industries India, Essar Steel India, Ratnamani Metals & Tubes, the Chinese Baosteel Europe), 3 - the European Union (Salzgitter Mannesmann International, STS Tubular Group and Corinth Pipeworks) and 2 - the CIS (the Russian Trade House TMK and the Ukrainian Metinvest International).
