Kazakhstan not to realize its plan on oil extraction

In 2014 Kazakhstan will not realize its plan on oil extraction, the first Vice Prime Minister of Energy, U. Karabalin, said.

“Last year was a record year (81.7 mln tons of oil were extracted), we are a bit behind now – 98.7% (-1.3%). It is connected with the fact that the main oil producer in Kazakhstan that daily extracts 80-82 thousand tons of oil is Tengizchevroil and it annually runs repair works of it equipment, it is shut down for 25-30 days. This year it was shut down for 75 days”, he said.
