The stopping of the South Stream project, judging by statements of our politicians, was not just the right decision of President Putin, but one might even say a long-awaited decision. Russia, as always in recent years, is on velvet, while Europe - well, you know where. As is usually, immediately after the speech of the President, they explained to us that the new decision of the President is a solid gain for Russia and only harm for narrow-minded "European friends".

- If Europe doesn’t want to implement it, so it won’t be realized, - the President said about South Stream on Monday evening, during his visit to Turkey. - We think that it doesn’t correspond to the economic interests of Europe and is detrimental to our cooperation. But such is the choice of our European friends.
