The Ukraine to return back Russian gas on its market in exchange for gas price reduction

The Ukraine is ready to return back the Russian gas to the market in exchange for a reduction of price, the president of the country V.Yanukovich said during his interview, RBK-Ukraine reports.

According to him high gas price has resulted in the reduction of Russian gas consumption in the Ukraine. Russia also incurs losses. “To lose the Ukrainian market is not profitable for Russia,” V.Yanukovich noted. He has reminded that Russian gas supply to the Ukraine is down to 18 billion cubic meters a year. He said that the negotiations between Russia and the Ukraine would start as early as this week. The president asserted in an interview that the market price of the Russian gas is to make up $300 per a thousand cubic meters.
