From the beginning of the year, the Ukraine bought about 2.5 billion cubic meters of gas from Europe

“This year we bought about 2.5 billion cubic meters of gas at the price, which was less than the Russian one by over $100. $100 is just a discount for base of the Black Sea Fleet…Price on spot markets in Europe is $370 on the average and the average price of purchases from Gazprom is about $401-402 this year. And we see about 10% of difference,” – the Minister of Energy and Coal Industry Eduard Stavitsky said in interview to the 5 channel.

The Minister also noted once again that this moment “fair” price of Russian gas for the Ukraine must be $280 per 1 thousand cubic meters that corresponds to the average annual price on European markets without transportation costs.
