From the beginning of the year, over 12 million tons of oil were produced in the Mangistau region of Kazakhstan

In the first eight months of this year, oil production in the Mangistau region of Kazakhstan made up 12.259 million tons. The plan was exceeded by 200 thousand tons.

The increase in the oil production was given by so-called "old" fields: Zhetybai, Kalamkas, Ozen, Karajanbas.
A unit on the injection of polymers into the formation was launched at the Kalamkas field of Mangistaumunaygaz, laboratory studies were conducted. According to Alik Aydarbaev, positive results were obtained.

"The forecast increase of the oil recovery index to 44% will increase the reserves at the “old” fields by 79 million tons, which is comparable with the discovery of a new field, such as the Kumkol one. At the initial stage, the polymers will be imported. In the future, we will produce polymers in Mangistau,"- said akim of Mangistau region Alik Aidarbayev.
