“Gazpromneft” carries out trial shipment of oil to China inr Russian roubles

“Gazpromneft” has carried out the first trial shipment of oil to China for payment in roubles. President of Russia V.Putin said about it at “Russia Calling” Investment Forum. According to him, Russia is about to switch to national currency at payments with China and other partners.

A.Kostin, the head of VTB, was the first to suggest switching to rouble on oil and gas export in April this year. According to him, the sale of Russian gas and oil for rouble will contribute to the development of export and import and provide definite protection from imposition of sanctions. At the same time, according to A.Kostin, the choice of the currency is to be done voluntary for Russian exporters and importers, as well as for western or eastern partners.
