​The Arctic projects at the shelf are not frozen, they are postponed, the Minister of Natural Resources and Ecology, S. Donskoi, said.

The works go on. It is about the delay, he said answering the question of the influence of sanctions on the works at the shelf.

ExxonMobil has restricted its participation in cooperation with Rosneft due to the imposed on Russia sanctions in the Arctic.

The company has shut down 9 out of 10 joint with Rosneft projects, including exploration and potential extraction at the shelf of the Black Sea, in the Arctic and Western Siberia. In particular, the sanctions refer to the cooperation with Rosneft on holding geological exploration in the Kara Sea where in 2014 the Pobeda deposit was discovered with the reserves of 130 mln tons of oil and 499.2 bln cubic m of gas.

In April a member of Rosneft’s Board, academician N. Laverov, said that Rosneft might postpone the periods by the Arctic projects for 2 years.
