Nornikel in the first half of the year increased production of Palladium by 2%, Platinum by 5%

 Norilsk Nickel in the first half of the year 2015 boosted the production of Palladium by 2% compared with the same period a year earlier-to 1.359 million ounces (42.27 tons), Platinum is up by 5% to 339 thousand ounces (10.54 tons), the company said.

Nickel production in the reporting period rose by 2 percent to 131.29 thousand tons, the production of copper fell by 1% to 182.095 thousand tons.

The production of  palladium and platinum during the second quarter of 2015 year amounted to 726 000 oz (+15%) and 175 thousand ounces (+6%) respectively. The production growth relative to the first quarter was associated with the elaboration of the work-in-progress at the Russian enterprises and an increase in the sales of copper cake with the content of third-party undertaken by the platinum metals company Norilsk Nickel Harjavalta in Finland.
