Rosneft submits deal with Morgan Stanley to Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States for approval

Rosneft has submitted the deal on the acquisition of the oil trading division of the investment bank Morgan Stanley to the U.S. Committee on Foreign Investment, the Wall Street Journal reports.

The deal’s value is estimated at several hundred million dollars, the article says.

The deal approval faces special challenges because in April the U.S. Treasury added Rosneft’s president Igor Sechin in the sanctions list, the article notes. The Committee will consider the deal in the long-term perspective.
