Russian Ministry of Finance doesn’t want to give money to Sechin

The Russian Finance Ministry wants to drug out and bury Rosneft’s applications for money from the National Welfare Fund. The draft report of the Ministry of Economic Development on the financing of the company’s projects is not agreed in the Finance Ministry. The Finance Ministry proposes to focus on five priority projects of 28 ones that Rosneft applied.

The formal reason is the lack of studies sufficient for decision-making, this is stated in a letter of the Deputy Finance Minister Andrei Ivanov. But, according to the Vedomosti, which cites the opinion of several federal officials, in reality, the Ministry of Finance wants to drug out and bury the application for NWF, because it doesn’t intend to finance the oil sector.
