Prime Minister of the Ukraine calls the EU to block South Stream

The Prime Minister of the Ukraine, Yatsenyuk has urged the EU to block the South Stream project, assuring that gas transit through the Ukraine is reliable, the RIA Novosti transmits.

The South Stream gas pipeline is constructed through the Black Sea to states of South and Central Europe in order to diversify the export routes for Russian gas.

"We urge the European Union to block South Stream. The Ukraine is a reliable transit country, we have fulfilled and will fulfill our obligations," – Yatsenyuk stated at the parliamentary session on Tuesday.
