Novak: the Ukraine is ready to pay $1.451 billion of its gas debt before the end of the week

Russia hopes that the Ukraine will repay its debt for gas, supplied in November -December of 2013, which amounts to $1.451 billion, before the end of this week, said Energy Minister, A.Novak .
"We have heard about readiness of the Ukraine to pay for the supplies in November and December. And the term, which we discussed, was due to agreements that were reached in Berlin a week ago on May. 26th. It is a question of the debt repayment, including in part, in the amount of $500 million for April and May supplies. Today, we talked that the deadline for payment is limited by date of the prepayment mechanism introduction - June 9th," - A.Novak reported in the evening on June, 2nd.
