Gazpromneft starts production in Iraq

Gazpromneft has started the production at the Iraqi field of Badra. Currently, a complex test of the raw materials preparation system is carried out at the deposit’s central production facility for oil (CPF). They are planned to be completed in three months, when the required amount of oil will be accumulated for the beginning of commercial delivery. Then the Badra field will be able to reach the planned production level of 15 thousand barrels per day.

New infrastructure was constructed at the field, which enables it to start its commercial development. The first line of CPF with capacity of 60 thousand barrels per day was constructed, and 165- kilometer pipeline connected the Badra field with the mainline pipeline system of Iraq in March 2014.

It’s planned that the deposit will reach its peak production in the amount of 170 thousand barrels per day (about 8.5 million tons per year) in 2017 and will maintain this level for 7 years.
