Azerbaijan resumes export of gas to Russia
SOCAR intends to resume export of gas to Russia on June, 4th, a source in the state-owned oil company reported on Tuesday.
According to the source, the daily volume of gas exports is expected to reach 2 million cubic meters.
The repair works on the gas pipeline, which leads to the north, have been completed.
The gas supplies have been suspended since January 2014.
"Currently, the gas supply is not restored. This doesn’t have an impact on the contract, as it was concluded under conditions, according to which we can ensure the supply of gas at any time,"- SOCAR’s president Rovnag Abdullayev said earlier.
In 2013, SOCAR exported 1.37 billion cubic meters of gas to Russia.
Azerbaijan supplies gas to Russia under the contract (with possibility to be extended) on sale of Azerbaijani gas, signed between SOCAR and Gazprom in Baku in October 14th, 2009.
