Roughly 36 billion cubic meters of gas are in European underground gas storages

Roughly 36 billion cubic meters of gas are in European underground gas storages, a representative of the EU Commissioner for Energy Guenther Oettinger reported today.

The EU Commissioner’s representative reported that a meeting of Guenther Oettinger with Gazprom’s head, Alexei Miller took place in Brussels lately. Urgent issues, connected with security of gas supplies to the EU and the Ukraine were discussed. The parties stressed importance of reliable supplies of Russian gas. According to Oettinger, the European Union expects that Russia will adhere to its obligations.
