Federal Grid Company considers possibility to construct Pechengsky power bridge between Russia and Norway. The approximate cost of the project will make up over 9 billion rubles.

Perspectives of the North-West’s energy system extension were reported by Deputy Chairman of the FGC UES’s management Alexei Molsky during the conference “Development of electricity market and strengthening of electric mains in the high north region”.

Pechengsky power bridge between Russian and Norwegian energy systems provides for construction of new double-circuit power line of 132 kW Nickel-Skogfoss, switch over of the main Vykhodnoy-Nickel to voltage of 330 kW, construction of electricity distribution plants of 132-330 kW, installation of two autotransformers with capacity of 250 MVA, reactive power sources of 70 MVAp at one of two 150 KW substations – Nickel or Zapolyarny.
