NLMK invests over $1 billion to broadening of iron ore capacities

One of the Russian largest metallurgy combines NLMK annually has to buy up to 6 million tons of pellets from Metalloinvest due to lack in its own processing capacities. To stay afloat while the era of low steel prices, NLMK has started realization of the project for the construction of the processing complex at the Stoylensky GOK. In 2016, the combine is going to launch the production capacities for iron ore concentrate processing to pellets with capacity of 6 million tons, and to broaden iron ore processing at Stoylensky GOK by 5.5 million tons before 2017.
