Singapore shows a keen interest in cooperation with Russia in the oil-and-gas sector

The Singaporean companies are interested in cooperation with Russia in oil-and-gas projects, the ambassador of Russia in Singapore L.Moiseev said.

According to him, the Singaporean companies visited oil-and-gas facilities on Sakhalin in September. They are interested in some of the projects. In particular, Singapore wants to launch polystyrene production on the basis of the Sakhalin deposits.

Besides, according to Moiseev, Singapore companies want to attract Russia to their LNG market.

“They are aimed at becoming the centre of LNG sales in the Asian-Pacific Ocean region. They are building the second terminal for LNG acceptance now. The third one can appear in the near future. The acceptance capacity is expected to make up 14 million tons. Singapore is about to have good partners, including from Russia,” he said.
