Kiev to make an advance payment for 1 bln cubic m of Russian gas this week

The acting Minister of Energy and Coal Industry of the Ukraine, Y. Prodan, said that Kiev might make an advance payment for 1 bln cubic m of the Russian gas until the end of the week, Reuters reports on Tuesday.

The gas supply from Russia to the Ukraine was terminated in mid June due to the multi-billion debts of Kiev. The issue with the winter supplies of the Russian gas (from November 2015 until March 2015) was settled only on October 31st. However, the Ukraine hasn’t started to purchase gas from Russia as yet.
