Shell obtains gas from its first Ukrainian well

Royal Dutch Shell has obtained positive results at its first shale gas well in Ukraine. Now the company is going to drill the second one.

During the meeting with the Minister of Natural Resources Oleg Proskuryakov with the representatives of the company, the parties discussed current state of the shale gas extraction project within the Yuzovskaya area and the necessity of new rules of oil and gas deposits’ development.

On January 25th Shell and Nadra Yuzovskaya (Kiev) signed the PSA. The investors are Nadra Yuzovskaya LLC (90% are held by Nadra of Ukraine, 10% - by Geoservice) and Shell which won the tender for PSA with Ukraine in May 2012.
