Kazakhstan and China found joint steel production

The Kazakh Tau-Ken Samruk Company and the Chinese CITIC Group are going to found joint steel production in Kazakhstan. The sides have made an in principle agreement about the foundation of  joint steel production in Kazakhstan. The project is named 2The construction of  an electric metallurgy complex with annual capacity of 1.2 million tons of high-grade steel on the basis of the Kazakh iron ore deposits development". The realization of the project will create several new metal works, broaden iron ore extraction and concentration and develop its own machine building. The new metal plant will use the technology for steel production via direct iron reduction or DRI. To make the production more effective, the Kazkh businessmen will use practical experience of the leading global companies in the part of the effective processing of titanium-magnetic ore, direct iron reduction and the production of high-quality special steel sorts with the use of innovational technologies.
