Rosneft has attracted a Chinese company for drilling in the Sea of Okhotsk

Rosneft and Statoil have attracted China Oilfield Services Limited to drilling works at 2 exploratory wells at Magadan-1 and Lisyansky sites in the water area of the Sea of Okhotsk.

The wells are planned to be drilled in 2016.

The American and European companies are banned to provide services on exploration and extraction at the Russian shelf at the depth of over 150 m due to the sanctions. Rosneft says that the sea depth in the area of the drilling of both wells is less than 150 m.

COSL, that offered a semi-submersible drilling unit Nanhai-9, won the tender on the results of the combined assessment of technical and economic results, Rosneft reports. The unit was given a positive conclusion by the audit for meeting the Russian and International standards.
