Rosneft and ExxonMobil start to search for oil in the Laptev Sea

Rosneft and ExxonMobil have begun seismic exploration at the Anisinsko-Novosibirsk and Ust-Oleneksky sites in the Laptev Sea, the Russian company reports. The operations are carried out ahead of license obligations.

The research vessel "Akademik Fersman" is involved in the work; the operations are conducted by Dalmorneftegeofizika. As a result of the research, regional data on the geological structure of the subsurface within the areas of work will be obtained; they will enable to identify oil and gas promising areas for subsequent detailing and preparation for drilling.
