Gazprom to divide social duties – independent suppliers to supply gas to regions

The Prime Minister, Dmitry Medvedev has demanded that the independent gas suppliers  participate in gas supply to the regions. Gazprom has financed this sphere up until now, but the monopoly sold its  gas sales business in a number of regions and its interest in networks development decreased. Thus, Novatek, which became the gas supplier in the Kostroma region, will have to undertake a part of expenditures in its provision with gas, but it needs guarantees of a return on its investments and a decrease of consumers’ gas debts.
