Zhezkazgansky copper-smelting plant to operate until 2040

The management of “Kazakhmys” corporation stated it was about to carry out geological operations, supply resources and update the Zhezkazgansky copper plant. The plant will operate until 2040. According to the company, since early 2014 “Kazakhmys” directed about 600 million tenge for geological operation at its deposits. The reserves revaluation is carried out at the moment.

The Minister for Investment and Development, A.Isekeshev visited Zhezkazgan on November 27th, 2014. The Zhezkazgan copper plant resumed operation after a year's suspension.
