Gazprom and Sibur unite their efforts for gas refinery and gas chemical complex construction in Far East

Today the Chairman of Management Board of Gazprom, A. Miller and the CEO of Sibur, D. Konov have signed the memorandum for cooperation in construction of a gas refinery and gas chemical complex in the city of Belogorsk in the Amur region. In accordance with the document, the sides will unite their efforts within the presupposed foundation of the large complex for refining of multi-component gas from the deposits of the Yakutia and Irkutsk gas production centers. Gazprom forms them within the bounds of Eastern gas program.

Gazprom is going to build in Belogorsk a gas refinery with the annual capacity of up to 60 billion cubic m, and will extract ethane and other components from gas there. Sibur is going to build a gas chemical complex technologically connected with the gas refinery for ethane refining and the production of monomers for further production of polymers.
