Sanctions influence Shell’s plans on development of fields of the Bazhenov formation in the Khanty-Mansiisk autonomous district

Sanctions have influenced Shell’s plans on the development of fields of the Bazhenov formation in the Khanty-Mansiisk autonomous district, the company’s press centre reported to the ITAR-TASS.

"We see the impact of the EU and US sanctions, imposed against Russia, as on the current, as on the planned activities of Shell in Russia, including plans to develop deposits of the Bazhenov formation in the Khanty-Mansiisk autonomous district. Currently, we are in dialogue with the European authorities and our partners on the extent of impact of these sanctions,"- the press centre reported.

As the ITAR-TASS news agency reported in March, in 2014, Khanty-Mansiisk oil and gas union, a joint venture of Gazpromneft and Shell, obtained the right for geological exploration of the Yuilsky-4, Yuilsky-5 and South Lungorsky-1 sites in the Khanty-Mansiisk autonomous district.
