Rosneft claims that 500 ships are necessary for the Kara Sea deposits development

Rosneft claims that 500 ships are necessary for the Kara Sea deposits development, the Vice President of the company A. Shishikin says. He claims that the United Ship Building Corporation (OSK) is unable to provide for such needs that’s why they’ll have to order the ships including producing them abroad. To avoid that in future, Rosneft is going to buy in the consortium a super ship yard project in Bolshoi Kamen in Primorye, and shares in other assets participating in the Far Eastern center of ship building and repairs of OSK. The Ministry of Industry and Trade reports that by 2030 the total need in new ships for the Russian clients is 1,200 ships.
