OMK dispatches over 30 thousand large diameter pipes for Power of Siberia

In July and August of this year, the United Metallurgical Company (OMK) shipped more than 30 thousand tons of large-diameter pipes for the construction of the Power of Siberia gas transmission system. OMK has fully fulfilled its obligations under the contract for the construction of large diameter pipes for Power of Siberia, which was concluded between the Vyksa metallurgical plant and Gazprom in 2013.

Pipes with length of 12 meters and diameter of 1420 mm with wall thickness of 21.7 mm, with inner and outer polyethylene coating were produced by the Vyksa metallurgical plant (VMZ, a part of OMK). Sheet of the K60 strength class for production of large diameter pipes was also produced by VMZ at large iron rolling mill MKS-5000 from steel billet, made by NLMK. Thus, the production of pipes for this strategic project is fully localized in Russia.
