Volgograd Aluminum Plant could fully ceased production

Volgograd Aluminum Plant, being in a complicated financial and economic situation, can partially cease production or fully stop operation. Power tariff is 1.7 rubles for the plant, sharing over 40% in production prime cost now.

It’s one of the highest tariffs among all UC RUSAL’s plants, including the foreign enterprises, despite its close location to the Volga GES. As a result, in July Volgograd Aluminum Plant declined production by 22%, and has agreed the decision to reserve the corpus #4.
