Rosneft to start drilling on shelf of the Black Sea in Q1 of 2015

Drilling on the shelf of the Black Sea will start in the first quarter of 2015, the president of Rosneft, Igor Sechin stated.

In 2011, Rosneft and ExxonMobil reached an agreement on their joint development of the hydrocarbon resources on the Russian shelf of the Black Sea. The priority project under the agreement provides for the geological exploration and subsequent production of oil at the licensed area of the Tuapse Trough, which is a deep-shelf site with area of 11.2 thousand square km, located along the Black Sea coast of the Krasnodar region.
