Gazprom Neft plans to start industrial operation of Messoyakha group of deposits in Q4 2016

​Gazprom Neft plans to put the Messoyakha group of deposits into industrial operation in Q4 2016, the head of the department of economy and investment of the extraction and exploration block of Gazprom Neft, A. Mikheev, said.

The Messoyakha group of deposits comprises the East-Messoyakha and West-Messoyakha subsoil sites.

The licenses for both blocks belong to Messoyakhaneftegas, a parity JV of Gazprom Neft and Rosneft. Gazprom Neft is the operator.

The deposits were discovered in the 1980s and are the most northernmost oil deposits of Russia located on the shore.

The Messoyakha group of deposits is located at the Gydan peninsula in the Taz district of the Yamal Nenets Autonomous Area, 340 km to the north of Novy Urengoi, in the arctic climatic zone.
