Kazakhstan to separate POL fund by oil refinery plants

Kazakhstan will not found a special POL (petroleum, oil and lubricants) fund, the Vice Prime Minister of Energy of Kazakhstan, U. Karabalin, said.

Instead of the central reserves, he suggested that the oil refinery plants should keep petrol reserve at their stock houses.

According to Mr. Karabalin, now the total volume of the stored fuel is 254 thousand tons but it will rise to 400 thousand tons.

Kazakhstan consumes about 200 thousand tons of POL a month.

On May 27th 2015 Kazakhstan extended the ban for diesel fuel import by railway from Russia.
