U.S. Eximbank not to finance the "Yamal LNG" project because of the U.S. sanctions.

The Export - Import Bank of the United States (U.S. Eximbank) will not consider the possibility of financing the "Yamal LNG" project, one of whose members is Novatek, Bloomberg reported, citing the Lawton King a bank representative.

"Eximbank will not provide any support for the "Yamal LNG" project" – is stated in the King’s letter. The agency stated that the bank previously considered the possibility of the loan, but the details have not been provided.

On March 20th, the U.S. authorities have expanded the list of persons against whom sanctions are imposed in connection with the events in Ukraine, including the businessman Gennady Timchenko. Its associates own 23.5% stake in Novatek.
