The last Martin furnace ceased operation at Chusovoy metal works

On March 31st, the last Martin furnace ceased operations at the Chusovoy metal works of OMK. The stopping of the Martin furnace is the next stage in the fully-fledged reconstruction of the enterprise that presupposes getting rid of the old unprofitable facilities and the transition to production of goods in demands, such as casing,pumping and compressor pipes of high durability sorts with premium joints. Within its 70 years of operation, the Martin shop of the plant made 29 million tons of steel. After stopping of the Martin furnaces, the plant will start the disassembly of the duplex shop. Now they have fully disassembled the agglomeration plant and the converters and continues disassembling of blast furnace #1 and the gas refining utilities of the duplex shop.
