Posiet Port to cooperate with SDS-Ugol
The Posiet Port (in the structure of the transport division of Mechel) has signed an agreement on coal transshipment with SDS-Ugol. In conformity with the undertaken obligations, the port will monthly transship up to 50 thousand tons of export products.
In the framework of the contract a few lots of coal have already been shipped in vessels to consumers in South Korea.
In December 2015 the Posiet Port announced of the start of export coal transshipment of other companies having signed an agreement on freight-forwarding support with RZD Logistics. The port plans to increase the stake of coal for foreign customers in the cargo turnover up to 20% within a year.
In 2015 the Posiet port exported about 5.1 mln tons of coal keeping the result of 2014.
In 2011-2015 Mechel invested over 3.2 bln roubles into the modernization of the port’s infrastructure and foundation of the coal terminal with the capacity of 7 mln tons.
