Coal production in Russia is down by 0.2% in Jan-August

Coal production in the Russian Federation made up 227.538 million tons this year. It is almost equal to the results of the same period last year (227.180 million tons), it comes from the data of the Central Dispatch Department of the Fuel and Energy Sector.
The total supplies of the Russian coal has gone up by 1.7% to 207.270 million tons since early 2013, export is up by 12.4% to 93.485 million tons.

Urgalugol can increase up to 35% dispatching of its products by Far Eastern railway after achievement of projected capacity by the new mining and ore-dressing plant

The new line for coal concentration near the station of Chegdomyn should start operation in the end of 2013, the CEO of Urgalugol, the manager of the Khabarovsk subsidiary of SUEK JSC A. Dobrovolsky says while the visit of the enterprise by the Governor of the region V. Shport. Annual coal processing by the plant can reach 6-7 million tons. Last year Urgalugol dispatched to the railway 4.5 million tons of products. Mr.

In January – July, Kemerovo increased coal production

In January – July, the Kemerovo region increased coal production by 4.1% to 116.8 million tons, including 32.3 million tons of coking coal (+5.9%).
Coal production increased in SUEK-Kuzbass by 3.1 million tons, in Yuzhkuzbassugol United Coal Company by 1 million tons, in Kuzbass Fuel Company by 0.9 million tons, in Southern Kuzbass Coal Company by 0.8 million tons, in Raspadskaya Coal Company by 0.7 million tons, and in Kuzbassrazrezugol Coal Company by 0.5 million tons.

In the first 6 months of 2013, miners of Kuzbass produced 98.9 million tons of coal

In the first six months of 2013, miners of Kuzbass produced 98.9 million tons of coal that is by 4.5% more than in the same period of 2012.
In January-June, the production of coking coal grew by 6.7% as compared with the same period of 2012 to 27.1 million tons. In the first six months, the dispatch of coal made up 96.2 million tons, including 47.7 million tons for export.

In Q1, 2013, SUEK’s enterprises decreased coal production by 6% to 24.3 million tons

In January-March of 2013, enterprise of Siberian coal energy company (SUEK) produced 24.3 million tons. The production decrease made up 6% as compared to the same period of the last year, the company reports.

V. Berezovsky’s team produced 1 mln tons of coal from the beginning of the year

The face team headed by the delegate of the Kuzbass Parliament, V. Berezovsky, produced the 1 millionth ton of coal from the beginning of the year at the “Taldinskaya-Zapadnaya 1” mine of “SUEK-Kuzbass” OJSC (director M. Lupii, head of the site – S. Musokhranov).
This highly professional team became the first one to produce 1 mln tons in 2013 in the Siberian coal energy company, in Kuzbass and the entire coal industry of Russia.

Irkutsk affiliate of the First freight company becomes the exclusive partner of the Siberian coal energy company on transportation of coal from the Apsatsk coal open-cast

The Irkutsk affiliate of the First freight company (PGK) has become the exclusive partner of the Siberian coal energy company (SUEK) on the transportation of coal from the Apsatsk coal deposit in the Transbaikal region, the PGK’s press centre reports.

The monthly volume of the coal transportation from the Apsatsk coal deposit must be increased due to the development to 34.5 thousand tons before the end of 2012, the company expects. Read more »

SUEK to Increase Coal Supplies to Japan by 1 mln tons

SUEK plans to increase coal supplies to Japan by 1 million tons in comparison with the last year, reaching 3 million tons, reported the A.Belova, the officer of board of the conference “The Otrasl. Fuel Energy Sector” in St. Petersburg. According to her, Japan has expressed several requests to increase the supplies. Unfortunately, there are serious problems with Japan since they receive additional coal supplies from Russia, Indonesia, Australia, because earthquake and tsunami had a great impact on all its infrastructure system, including the ports and the roads, said A. Within one or two years SUEK to increase coal supplies to Japan by 29%

Within one or two years SUEK is going to increase coal supplies to Japan by 29% to 4.5 million tons annually, the Vice President for Strategy of the Company A. Belova says. Their supplies to Japan were 3.5 million tons in 2010 and over 2 million tons in 2009. Mrs. Belova says that they are ready to supply more but there’re some restrictions in accepting logistics as some of the Japanese ports were destroyed. The Minister of Energy of Russia S. Shmatko claimed several times after the earthquake in Japan that coal supplies to the state from Russia would be enlarged. Read more »

$1.5 bln to be invested in development of Tavan-Tolgoi

The investment in the development of the coal deposit Tavan-Tolgoi in Mongolia might equal to about $1.5 bln, the President of RZD, V. Yakunin said, Vedomosti reports.
According to him, this amount concerns the offer of the monopoly on the condition of the joint development of the site.
The application for participation in the auction is submitted but there might be some changes in the project, Mr. Yakunin said.
On February 1st, 2011 Mongolia started the pre-qualification selection of the applications on development of the coal deposit Tavan-Tolgoi. Read more »
