In Q1, Evraz increased steel production by 11%

In Q1, Evraz Plc. increased steel production by 11%  versus Q4, due to reduction in the period of ceasing of steel production at steel smelting enterprises. Consolidated steel items production increased by 2.8% to 4.032 million tons. Iron ore production remained 5.2 million tons. Coking coal production increased by 9% to 14%, and growth was 14%at Yuzhkuzbassugol, and 3% at Raspadskaya. Average sales prices slightly increased or remained unchanged.

Cast iron and steel production decreases in Dneprodzerjinsk

In the first three months of 2013, industrial complex of Dneprodzerjinsk increased production of mineral fertilizers, electricity, coke and cement, but decreased the production of steel and cast iron.

Norilsk Nickel looks better than the market in current situation

In compliance with Wednesday major trading session MICEX index closed at the level of 1,335.89, having reduced by 1.22%.
The amount of the index calculation base securities tender made up 31.350 billion RUR per day. Thus, negative dynamics at Russian market remains. Growing trading volume reflects the process of curtailing of Stop-loss investment positions after reaching next level – now 1,350 points at MICEX.

Over 800 million roubles to be invested in Electrozinc until 2017

The Ural ore-mining and smelting company (UGMK) is about to invest 823 million roubles into the development of the plant Electrozinc (enterprise of UGMK) until 2017.
As the CEO of Electrozinc I.Khodyko said the management of UGMK has confirmed the prospective development plan of the enterprise for this period. The programme considers a completion of a modern cooler for air-cooling of the electrolytic conductor in 2013 (expenditures make up 310 million roubles).

The RF to invest 38 billion RUR in restructuring and development of coal industry

By 2020 the RF will provide 38 billion RUR for restructuring and development of coal industry. The corresponding regulation is fixed in the text of the state program called “energy efficiency and development of power industry up to 2020” published at the site of the Ministry of Energy. The program presupposes the development of the production potential of coal mining, the development of coal products markets and the completion of coal industry restructuring .

The Krivoy Rog iron ore plant to pay over 600 million hryvnias of dividends

On March 28, shareholders of the Krivoy Rog iron ore plant decided to pay 616.525 million hryvnias of dividends on the results of the enterprise’s activity in 2012, the plant reports.
The payments were determined in an amount of 0.30962 hryvnias per 1 share.

The CEO of Severstal JSC A. Mordashov has completed a two-day work trip to Vorkuta. The main point of the trip was the discussion of the plans for the development of Vorkutaugol, one of the largest coal producers in Russia, a member of the Severstal Group. Mr. Mordashov began the work in Vorkuta from the meeting with the company’s staff at Pechorskaya concentrating plant, the largest one at Vorkutaugol. They discussed industrial safety, current production, improve of industrial safety and the reduction of expenses.

Irkutsknedra to forecast growth of discovery of new hydrocarbon deposits in the region

The discovery of hydrocarbon deposits in the Irkutsk region may occur every year, the Chief of the Subsoil Use Department in the Irkutsk region (Irkutsknedra) Olga Gaikova reported at the press conference on Wednesday.
“65 hydrocarbon licenses are in force in the region now, deposits have been already discovered at 36 of them. In particular, last year Rosneft discovered a field at the Preobrazhensk licensed site, which was named in honor of the famous Irkutsk geologist, Vladimir Mazur.The  Irkutsk oil company discovered three deposits. The reserves of the new fields, placed on the state balance sheet, are small, but this is just the beginning,” – Gaikova concluded, the RIA Novosti reports.

A half of tendered subsoil sites remain not in demand in the Irkutsk region

The Subsoil use management agency of the Irkutsk region offered for licensing 62 objects in 2012, but tenders were held for only 32 of them, the director of the agency O. Gaikova says. The main reason under which the tenders are admitted is lack in applications for them in connection with low rate of their exploration and low prospects in reserves.
