MMK hits historical record of 730 thousand tons of commercial metal products in May of 2013

In May of 2013, supplies of the Magnitogorsk metallurgic plant to the Russian market exceeded 730 thousand tons of commercial metal products that is an absolute historical record of the enterprise.
The previous record – 706 thousand tons – was set up by results of August of 2012. The new reached rate is a result of the systematic implementation of the plant’s strategy, focused on growth of metal products supplies to domestic consumers. During the last years, MMK constantly increased dispatches to the domestic market, which was defined as strategically priority by the Management and the Board of MMK because of dynamics of growth and geographic proximity.

MMK strengthens its position in list of leading world steelmakers

The World Steel Association has presented its annual rating of the largest steel smelting companies of the world. By results of the last year, the Magnitogorsk metallurgic plant with the volume of steel smelting in the amount of 13 million tons in 2012, took the 26th place in the WSA’s Top steel-producing companies 2012 (top-40), raised by 4 positions as compared with the results of the previous rating.

MMK to budget environmental investments

There has been implemented an environmental investment programme at MMK for 2013-2015 by an order of CEO of OJSC “MMK” B.Dubrovsky.
The programme is aimed at an implementation of an environmental policy of MMK, improvement of the eco-management system, meeting the requirements of the environmental legislation and securing of an ecological safety. The main investments by MMK in 2013-2015 are environmental measures at a sintering shop.

MMK forecasts metal consumption growth in Russia by 3% a year

Metal products consumption in Russia will keep growing by 3% a year in average and reach appr. 56.6 million tons a year by 2020 against 44.5 million tons in 2012. The Business Development Director of OJSC “Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel works” (MMK) E.Redin said.

MMK develops new assortment for the largest oil and gas projects

MMK develops new assortment for the largest oil and gas projects, the CEO of Internal Sales of MMK N. Anashkov says at the Third Common Russian Conference ‘Steel pipes: production and regional sales-2013’. The representative of the company made a report, having analyzed the current state of affairs at the rolled steel market for pipe production and new abilities of MMK in production of items for the pipe sector.

MMK invested 105 mln. into healthy living

In 2012 the expenditures for social and charitable programs made up 1.1 billion roubles.
The Magnitogorsk Iron-and-Steel works directed 459.8 million roubles for a support of the elderly and the disabled, 418 million roubles for medical assistance programs and 329 million – for health improvement of the employees and the members of their families. Sport development projects have been financed in the amount of 105 million roubles.

In April of 2013, Russian Steel’s enterprises produced 4.48 million tons of finished rolled metal

In April of 2013, the main enterprises-members of Russian Steel produced 4.48 million tons of finished metal that is by 4.8% less than in April of 2012 and by 4.4% less than in March of 2013.
In January-April of 2013, the production of finished rolled metal decreased by 3.1% as compared to the same period of the last year to 18.07 million tons.

MMK to produce heat-treated fittings of A600C class

They have mastered the output of fittings A600C class SRT ASCHM 7-93 at the Magnitogorsk Iron-and-Steel works.
Mastering of a new type of products took place in accordance with the new type of reinforcing bar production technology design and development programme, realized at OJSC “MMK”.

MMK and ChTPZ keep fulfilling their strategical partnership program aimed at the provision of oil and gas companies with high quality pipe products for new and acting pipelines. The companies signed an agreement about provision of LDP production department Vysota 239 (ChTPZ) with flat section of mill-5000 of MMK.
