In H1 ferroalloys exports from Russia stayed close to the record 2010 level

In Jan-June 2012 according to the customs and railroad statistics (in the countries of the Customs Union), the export of ferroalloys made up 436.6 thousand tons.
It is by 12% more against the same period 2011 and 4% less against the same period 2010. The 2009 level was exceeded by 39%, of 2006-2008 – on average by 36%. Read more »

Norilsk Nickel keeps expanding its corporate fleet

Norilsk Nickel has reported that the transfer and acceptance certificate for the river service tug built by the Nizhegorodsky Teplokhod plant was signed in Bor town, the Nizhny Novgorod Region.

This is the second tug built for Norilsk Nickel at this plant. The building of the tug was completed in the framework of the company’s port fleet modernization investment program. The program presupposes building of two river and two sea tugs as well as a liquid fuel bunkering barge. Read more »

Rosneft purchases an oil terminal in Murmansk

Rosneft maps out to revive a transshipment terminal, located at the territory of a former military shipyard, for its Arctic projects. In future, the terminal will provide for the shipment of 18 million tons of oil per year. Read more »

Eni expects the investment decision about South Stream at the end of 2012 – beginning of 2013

The Italian oil and gas company Eni expects the final investment decision about the project of the building of the South Stream gas pipeline either at the end of 2012 or in the beginning of 2013, Reuters reports with reference to the statement of the Head of Eni, Paolo Scaroni.

“All four partners are working to make the final investment decision either at the end of December or in the beginning of 2013”, Scaroni said. Read more »

RBC-daily: German Wintershall and E.On can pay Gazprom for participation in the JV in 2013

The JV of Gazprom Plc. And German Wintershall and E.On – Severneftegazprom – can reassess the reserves of South Russian deposit upwards in a year. BP will not join Nord Stream

AAR has blocked the partnership of BP and Gazprom.
BP still hopes to become a strategic partner of Gazprom. After the failure with Rosneft at the shelf BP has tried to join the project of Gazprom on the construction of a new branch of the Nord Stream gas pipeline. However, this time the plans of BP have again been broken by the Russian owners of TNK-BP. They didn’t allow BP to participate in the Nord Stream by passing the shareholders agreement of TNK-BP. BP didn’t want to follow the approved procedure, i.e. to offer the Russian oil company to join the project. Read more »

Gazprom and Wintershall can sign a writtens obligations on the exchange of assets in November

The Russian gas holding  “Gazprom” and German “Wintershall” will sign  written obligations, as to an exchange of assets, in November. The deputy head of the holding A.Medvedev stated at then St Petersburg International Ecomomic Forum.

“We hold negotiations now. Binding agreements might be signed in November,” he said.

The deputy head of Gazprom added that a sphere of the assets might be defined earlier. “It will happen before the end of the  Football Championship,” Medvedev added. Read more »

Severstal prolongs contract with HYUNDAI-KIA

Severstal has prolonged the long-term contract with HYUNDAI-KIA. The new contract for rolled steel supplies made by Cherepovets metal works, a subsidiary of Severstal Russian Steel to Hyundai, assembling cars at the plant Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Rus Ltd in St. Petersburg, is active till the end of 2012. In 2012, Cherepovets metal works is going to supply 15,000 tons of car steel plates for HYUNDAI-KIA, by 2 times more than in 2011 Read more »
