Lukoil to go further and deeper in the Caspian Sea

Lukoil continues to invest into exploration and production of one of the most perspective regions of the company’s presence – shelf of the Caspian Sea. By the end of 2013, Lukoil intends to start exploratory drilling at the Khazri structure. The start of production in case of the discovery of industrial reserves of hydrocarbons will be in 2018-2019. The jack-up drilling rig Neptun is also planned to be used for the drilling at the Titonskaya structure in 2014. In case of the resource potential is confirmed, the production at the structure may start in 2014.

The Parliament has admitted in the second reading the law project about stimulation of gas production on shelf

The Russian Parliament has agreed the second reading the law  about the stimulation of gas production on the Russian continental shelf. The law  was brought to the Parliament  in the fifth convocation and agreed in the first reading in December 2012.
Under the law  elaborated for the second reading, the organizations are released from the property tax for the objects located on shelf, and from the value added  tax in the realization of the projects for the development of the new offshore hydrocarbon deposits. They also propose  the release from the payment export customs duties.
Mineral tax
The law  sets the mineral tax rates for the new hydrocarbons deposits at the continental shelf, with the start of production from January 1 2016. In particular, they set the duty rate of 30% for the deposits located in the Azov Sea and of 50% or more for those at the Baltic Sea, before the expiry of 60 months from beginning from the month following the month when fuel production began, but not later than March 31 2022.

In the first 6 months, Tatneft lays 425 km of corrosion-resisting pipes and 2,328.9 tons of corrosion inhibitors

Tatneft is implementing a group of actions, to provided for stable and fail-safe work of oil field facilities to provide ecological safety of oil production.
In the first six months of 2013, Tatneft layed 425 km of corrosion-resisting pipes and 2,328.9 tons of corrosion inhibitors. As the company’s press centre explains, use of such pipes, as well as use of inhibitory and electrochemical corrosion protection which significantly increases the safety of oil field facilities.
124 wells were equipped with cathodic protection, and electrochemical corrosion protection of 270.9 km of pipelines and anticorrosion protection of the internal surface of 7 steel vertical tanks were carried out.

Gazprom to increase plan of gas production in 2013 because of increase of supplies to Europe

In 2013, Gazprom plans to increase the plan of gas production because of its intention to increase supplies to Europe, the Deputy Chairman of the gas holding company Vitaly Markelov reported to the RIA Novosti on Thursday.

Gold production can be over 20 tons at Kolyma in 2013

Gold production can be 22 tons at Kolyma in 2013, that is more than in 2012, the acting governor of the Magadan region V. Pechyony says. Last year the region produced 20.737 tons  of gold (+14.28%), 834.696 tons of silver (+7.3%), 7.59 tons of ore gold (+11.9%), and 13.15 tons of alluvial gold (+15.7%). In the beginning of the production season of 2013, the regional administration forecasted decline in gold production by 3% to 20.1 tons, and growth in silver production by 5% to 875 tons.

Export of Russian oil to Europe decreases to a 10-year low

Supplies of Russian oil to Europe have decreased to a 10-year low. Russian oil companies prefer to process oil products and increase export to China, The Financial Times writes.
In July, the export of Russian oil to European countries was to be 2.1 million barrels per day, contracts on the transportation of raw materials show.
Oil of the Urals grade is sold in the EU at a premium to the physical batches of North Sea oil (The brand Brent, is used to calculate the price for Russian crude oil), the agency Platts reports.

Serbian subsidiary of “Gazpromneft” invests EUR 26 mln. into the cogeneration construction project

Serbian NIS, Gazpromneft’s subsidiary, directs EUR 26.32 million into the cogeneration (electric power and heat production) construction project. It is said about in a statement of the company.
A construction of the cogeneration is part of the associated gas utilization programme of the Serbian company. The first co-generation module at the deposit in Veliko-Gradishte was officially put in operation within the frame of implementation of a long-term programme on an efficient use of gas resources of the company.

Lost Nabucco, Romania has found out “a neighbour and important partner” in Russia

“Romania sees not an enemy, but a neighbour and important partner in Russia,” – the Prime Minister of Romania, Viktor Ponta stated in interview to the Romanian state news agency Agerpres on July, 3.
“I think, the way Romania has built its relationship with Russia in recent years was  “childishness”, as the President says. We can be firm in upholding of interests, but at the same time pragmatic and constructive in our relations with Russia,” – Ponta stated.

South Kuzbass increases coal production volume

OJSC “South Kuzbass” increased coal production by 11.9% in January-June 2013 against the same period last year.
The miners produced 7 million 148 thousand tons of coal during the first 6 months of 2013. It is by 763 thousand tons or 11.9% more than during the same period in 2012.

Russia: FTS to consider tariffs on gas transport for independent suppliers

The management of the Federal Tariff Service will consider a question, concerning a confirmation of tariffs on a transportation of gas via the main gas pipelines of  “Gazprom” for independent companies, is said in a statement of the company.
They are also planning to talk about the approval of wholesale gas prices, used as minimum and maximum prices for gas, produced by Gazprom.
